Wednesday 23rd January

Great night for the blog last night and we hope to keep that momentum going!

Raptors @ Heat, Heat -6 points, 1.52 WON

The Heat have had a 6 day rest and they should be very fresh returning to the American Airlines arena tonight after a tough road trip. They always are a question mark in games against lower opponents but my main reason for leaning towards the Heat tonight is due to their freshness but also that the Raptors are barely any better at rebounds than the Heat. If the Heat compete evenly on the boards tonight this should be a very comfortable match for them, with the Raptors struggling on the road this year.

Nets @ Timberwolves, Nets -5 points, 1.95 WON

The Brooklyn Nets have had a fairly successful period of late and the Timberwolves are quite the opposite. The Timberwolves are without Petkovic and Love and are going through an extremely tough time. The Nets have a very good road win over the Knicks on Sunday and they should be able to cover the spread against a weakening T'wolves team.

Lakers @ Grizzlies, Grizzlies -4 points 1.95 and Under 188 points, 1.95 WON AND LOST

The Lakers issues are much discussed at the moment and with Dwight Howard possibly on the verge of being traded and Kobe admitting that his side are in great trouble they are in the middle of a very tough road trip. Things do not get much easier for them as the Grizzlies, much like the Bulls negate a lot of the things that the Lakers are good at. Gasol and Randolph should be the more dominate 4 and 5 in competition with his brother and Dwight. Rudy Gay will also give Kobe a tough night and the Lakers cannot keep relying on him to get him out of trouble. Expect a low scorer here with the Grizzlies winning by 8.

Underdog of the day

Pacers @ Portland, Pacers -2, 2.20 LOST

I really like the way Pacers are playing Basketball at the moment and they are coming off the back of an extremely road win at Memphis. David West is hitting his jumper very nicely at the moment and Paul George is draining big points on a nightly basis. Portland have come off the boil recently and I expect quite a tight match tonight but I have to favour the Pacers, who will not give Portland many open looks, of which they thrive on.

Banker double (2 unit bet)

Hornets +13 and Bulls -2.5 (bet365) 2.17 (We advise a 2 unit bet here) WON
