Tuesday 29th January

Hi guys,

Not many games tonight in the NBA and I am going for one double tonight of which I am quite confident about.

Firstly I like the play on Cleveland tonight. Without doubt they are missing Varajeo who is out for the season but Kyrie Irving is proving to be one of the most prestigious talents in the NBA right now. Cleveland are on a 3 game streak and are playing some reasonable Basketball at the moment. Golden State are on a back to back after beating Toronto last night but Stephen Curry is extremely unlikely to play, which is one of my biggest reasons for avoiding them tonight.

The LA Lakers are starting to turn their season around and that is partly due to D'antoni scrapping some of the offensive plays he has been using. They are starting to screen and roll more often now and Kobe is giving the ball up far more often which is allowing for better all round plays. They will not probably play with the same intensity as they did against the Thunder on Sunday but games like this tonight are an absolute must win and therefore I expect them to hold nothing back.

Cavs +4.5 and Lakers -5 in a double tonight = 2.35 (bet365)

I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT IRVING IS A GAME-TIME DECISION, WE MAKE THIS CAVS BEAT DEPENDENT ON HIM PLAYING!
Good luck

Tuesday 28th Jan

Our new profit / loss page has been updated with our current unit levels over on the profit / loss page - check it out!!

Rockets @ Jazz: Selection: Jazz -4 points 1.95   LOST

We picked the Jazz to beat the Lakers the other night, which was the coming out party so to speak to the Lakers, who seemed to forget their past woes, with Kobe finally realising he does not have to chuck up 30 shots a game and actually started to pass the ball ending in a big victory for LA. Jazz were coming off a great number of wins before that game, and aside from the Lakers blip have been playing well of late. Rockets on the other hand have not been in great form, and Jazz being a strong home team we expect Jazz to see this one out quite comfortably.

Pacers @ Nuggets@ Selection: Nuggets -5 points 1.95   LOST

I really like the Nuggets in this match up, with Denver being one of the best home teams in the league regularly posting over 100 points a game at home. I think their style of fast break and running/transition basketball will not suit the pacers who don't seem to be able to recreate their amazing defense which they show at home. With Pacer's not being able to keep Denver from scoring like they do when at home I see Pacers really struggling to keep up with the pace of the game obviously trying to match the incredible scoring power of the Nuggets.  This one may end up with a double digit win for Denver

GSW @ Raptors: Selection: GSW -1 point 1.95  WON

I'm least confident about this selection, however, that is not to say I don't think there is value in taking GSW -1 here. I have been impressed with raptors of late, especially with their performance against Miami. However, it is easy to get up for games vs the superstar Heat, a Heat team that do not always play their hardest in regular season.  GSW really have surprised me this season, playing excellent basketball, with their star players Lee and Curry really posting up great numbers. I had the pleasure of watching Bulls destroy GSW the other night, however I think that was just a bad night and Bulls were really firing, especially from beyond the arc. I expect a much better performance tonight and GSW to come away with a narrow victory in Canada.

Feature TV double

We have quite a double header on our hands tonight as the Heat visit the Celtics and OKC go to the Lakers. To be honest I cannot see past two road victories. Boston are struggling at the moment and whilst there is no denying their added motives tonight the Heat should provide to be too tougher a challenge. If the Heat can keep Rondo quiet and Bosh has a good game on KG then this game should be a lockdown. The Heat are starting to click this year beating their last two opponents comfortably and Wade has started to post up +25 points quite consistently in recent games.

With regards to the second live match, I see OKC having a great time against the Lakers who are in desperate need for victories. Whilst there is no denying the Lakers have more to play for in this game, I cannot see how defensively they can control KD and Westbrook. We have seen in recent times how poor the Lakers are at defending screen and rolls and how open the lane is when they defend in the horn set-up. My only concern is the Howard - Perkins match-up but I do expect to see KD maybe sacrifice some of his offence today to guard Kobe but Westbrook (if he plays intelligently) should have a field day against Nash.

Bet recommended - Heat -3.5 and Thunder -3.5 = 3.82 (182bet) 2 unit bet LOST

Hornets @ Grizzlies, Under 179 points, 1.95 (youwin) WON

The Grizzlies are playing extremely tight and effective defence at the moment and with the New Orleans Hornets not posting up big numbers all year I can see this being quite a low scorer. One of the Hornets offensive jugonauts at the moment is Ryan Anderson who loves to shoot open 3's but he will not get that opportunity tonight. Neither team like to really play transition basketball which should slow the game down and I will certainly take the under line tonight.

Tasty treble

Knicks, Clippers and Mavericks all to win on money-line = 2.62 (paddypower) 2 units WON

Player performance: Westbrook over 25 points / Wade over 22 points 1 unit each LOST

Best of luck today guys

Best of luck tonight

Thursday 24 January 2013

Thursday 24th January

Knicks @ Celtics: Selection: Knicks -1.5 points 2.06 (betfair) WON

Also, Knicks Knicks -5 points at 2.62 (bet 365) LOST

Both 1 unit bets:

When I first saw the match up, and the odds, I thought WOW, on the Knicks. I then sat down, had a long think, did some research, and it wasn't the gift from god that I first thought it was. However, I still think it is good value in a struggling Boston team. Alot depends on melo and Jr Smith, who will need to shoot well tonight, as well as Chandler keeping out of foul trouble to try and lock down on the defensive end.
Knicks have a couple of injuries to contend with in Felton and others however, I think Melo will put up big numbers tonight, with pierce still struggling from the field causing the Celtics problems offensively.  I have chosen both Knicks to win -1.5 and -5 because I think they will win to night, and it could well turn into a victory by a more comfortable margin than a couple of points so 2.62 on -5 represents decent value in my eyes.

Clippers @ Suns: Selection Clippers -6 points 1.90 bet 365 LOST

The Suns are a very poor team this year, with the Clippers one of the most impressive teams in the league, with great depth a talent throughout the team. I see Clippers taking this one with ease tonight.
Good Luck.

Wednesday 23 January 2013

Wednesday 23rd January

Great night for the blog last night and we hope to keep that momentum going!

Raptors @ Heat, Heat -6 points, 1.52 WON

The Heat have had a 6 day rest and they should be very fresh returning to the American Airlines arena tonight after a tough road trip. They always are a question mark in games against lower opponents but my main reason for leaning towards the Heat tonight is due to their freshness but also that the Raptors are barely any better at rebounds than the Heat. If the Heat compete evenly on the boards tonight this should be a very comfortable match for them, with the Raptors struggling on the road this year.

Nets @ Timberwolves, Nets -5 points, 1.95 WON

The Brooklyn Nets have had a fairly successful period of late and the Timberwolves are quite the opposite. The Timberwolves are without Petkovic and Love and are going through an extremely tough time. The Nets have a very good road win over the Knicks on Sunday and they should be able to cover the spread against a weakening T'wolves team.

Lakers @ Grizzlies, Grizzlies -4 points 1.95 and Under 188 points, 1.95 WON AND LOST

The Lakers issues are much discussed at the moment and with Dwight Howard possibly on the verge of being traded and Kobe admitting that his side are in great trouble they are in the middle of a very tough road trip. Things do not get much easier for them as the Grizzlies, much like the Bulls negate a lot of the things that the Lakers are good at. Gasol and Randolph should be the more dominate 4 and 5 in competition with his brother and Dwight. Rudy Gay will also give Kobe a tough night and the Lakers cannot keep relying on him to get him out of trouble. Expect a low scorer here with the Grizzlies winning by 8.

Underdog of the day

Pacers @ Portland, Pacers -2, 2.20 LOST

I really like the way Pacers are playing Basketball at the moment and they are coming off the back of an extremely road win at Memphis. David West is hitting his jumper very nicely at the moment and Paul George is draining big points on a nightly basis. Portland have come off the boil recently and I expect quite a tight match tonight but I have to favour the Pacers, who will not give Portland many open looks, of which they thrive on.

Banker double (2 unit bet)

Hornets +13 and Bulls -2.5 (bet365) 2.17 (We advise a 2 unit bet here) WON

Tuesday 22nd Jan

Thunder @ clippers: selection. Over 200 points 1.95 WON

Both teams play great attacking basketball, and look to run where possible. I expect alot of fast break points, with clippers a little tired from playing last night meaning they may not hustle as hard as they should on defense. Durant hasn't shot particularly greatly last few outings although has made up for it by getting to the foul line on many occasions  I expect him to find his stroke and the 200 total seems generous and should go over quite comfortably.

LATE ADDITION TO THE BLOG (1.5 HOURS BEFORE TIP OFF STILL)

Thunder -1.5 points vs Clippers: 1.92 on betfair WON

Chris paul has pulled out of tonight's game, also clippers are back to back and put up a less than sterling display for GSW yesterday. I'm not a huge fan of backing Thunder on the road vs teams that have a great home record (such as the Denver game a couple of days ago), however I fancy them to take this one tonight.

We advise a 2 unit bet on this tonight. Good luck

Monday 21 January 2013

Monday 21st January

Hi guys, plenty of early Basketball today so I am looking forward to settling down and watching all night!

Indiana @ Memphis, Over 172 points, 1.95 LOST

I am fully aware that these are the two slower scorers in the league but for me this points line is offering us huge value here. Indiana's offence is beginning to click scoring more heavily in recent matches. We really rely on Paul George shooting hot for this to happen but he is playing extremely well recently. With this game also being live on national TV the referee's will tend to be quite hot on off the ball fouls therefore stopping the clock and getting teams in the Bonus quite early. This offers value on the overs line and I will be taking that tonight.

Rockets @ Bobcats, Rockets money line, 1.30 WON

The Rockets have been through a rough patch recently which is partly due to scheduling but I really like what i see from them. James Harden can sometimes be a little bit too much in favour of iso'ing himself and trying to drive through the lane but when Houston share the ball and get Lin in on the act they are very effective. Omar Asik is having a very prolific season in the 5 position and should dominate a weaker team such as the Bobcats. Houston need to keep Kemba Walker quiet and they should see this through for the W against a weak Bobcats team.

Lakers @ Bulls, Bulls -1, 1.95 (If DENG plays = LOCK - 3 unit bet if DENG is out 1 unit bet) WON

The Lakers right now are in turmoil, there is no other way of describing it. They were pitiful against the Raptors last night and on an ageing team a back to back against a hustling, hard working team such as the Bulls is not what they want. The Lakers will have to work extremely hard tonight against a great Bulls D and if Deng goes this should negate a lot of what Kobe offers but Jimmy Butler could do just an effective job in D. Hinrich is perfectly suited to keep Nash quiet and Noah should prove a nuisance to Howard. With Gasol and Kobe really lagging in D I can see Boozer and Rip scoring quite a few buckets tonight and this should provide Bulls with an easyish win.

Additional tip: Bulls -6 points, 2.80 (bet365) 1 unit bet IF DENG PLAYS WON

Nets @ Knicks, Knicks -3.5, 1.95 LOST

The Knicks were to be honest relatively average in London against the Pistons but nothing should fire them up more than a home game against their local rivals. The key for me in this match is the strength of the Knicks bench compared to the Nets. With the likes of J.R. Smith and Amar'e Stoudemire playing off the bench the Knicks have far more depth than Brooklyn. Tyson Chandler should be able to keep Brook Lopez quiet and I expect Melo Anthony to get decent looks against quite a weak defensive transition team.

Sunday 20th Jan

Boston @ Detroit: Selection Boston -2 points 1.95 LOST

Boston have had mixed results this year, although with bradley back in the fold they are looking alot better defensively of late. Pierce has gone off the boil though with Garnette also struggling with his shooting against Chicago.  However I was fortunate enough to be at the Knicks - Detroit game on Thursday and was not impressed at all with the Pistons. Drummond is not getting the playing time he deserves, with his performance the only one I was impressed with on the Detroit team. I think Boston takes this today if Pierce and KG shoot more efficiently.

Lakers @ Raptors: Selection Lakers -5 points 1.95 LOST

Saturday 19 January 2013

Saturday 19th January

What a night of Basketball it was on ESPN yesterday with both Chicago and OKC taking their respective games in over time. We came out as a loser yesterday on the blog which was rather frustrating but we look to bounce back tonight!

Bulls @ Grizzlies, Under 173 points (2.20 at bet365)

I am quite suprised that the Grizzlies go in tonight as favourites after the Bulls and Grizzlies both being back to back. It does seem like Luol Deng is going to be out for a little while and therefore this obviously shifts the price accordingly. I believe that Jimmy Butler will now play most of his minutes and Jimmy is an excellent defender. With Zach Randolph also out for the Grizzlies (to the best of our knowledge) I can see a low scorer in this game tonight.

Prediction Bulls 85-83 Memphis

Warriors @ Hornets, Warriors +5 points, 1.95 (Youwin)

Stephen Curry could easily return tonight in this game and with that we are more than happy to take this spread on the road against a mixed Hornets team. The Warriors have a superior FG%, PPG, Rebounds and Assists per game and only concede on average 3 points more than Hornets. I do expect this to be a close encounter but I certainly don't see Hornets steam rolling the Warriors. If Curry is playing I would expect the Warriors to run out winners by around 5 points.

Bucks @ Trail Blazers, Over 196.5 points, 1.95

I would have expected this total line to be above 200 so 196 seems a definite back for overs. Both teams do not particularly soak up the clock too much and this should be a good thing for our over bet. Brandon Jennings should shoot well against a considerably weaker PG opponent and this should get Milwaukee over the 100 mark. I do probably still lean towards a Portland win but I can see this going over 200, so overs for us.

Wizards @ Clippers, Clippers -12.5 points 1.95 (Youwin)

Wizards are back to back tonight and Clippers have had a day's rest after getting an impressive win on the road at Minnesota. A Friday night atmosphere at the Staples should invigorate the Clippers to get the job done after a shock loss to Magic last week. If Chris Paul does come back to the team tonight I expect this to be a blow-out. Without  CP3 the Clippers have phenomenal depth and rotation and if they get off to a good start I can see the Wizards letting this game slip by, after a tough win last night but his inclusion could be pivotal

WITH THIS TIP I WOULD LEAVE IT UNTIL TEAMS ARE ANNOUNCED AND VIEW IF CP3 IS PLAYING. IF NOT THE SPREAD APPEARS A LEAVE

Additional tip is going to be Houston -4.5 points @ Timberwolves.

Friday 18 January 2013

Friday 18th January

Last night was quite a night as we got to see NBA in the flesh for the very first time (and certainly not the last!)

Anyway back to business for us tonight and here are our picks:

Bulls @ Chicago, Over 181 points, 1.95 and Boston -3.5, 1.95 WON AND LOST

When these two teams meet the points line is always low due to both teams being relatively low scorers. However, most times, the points line goes over and currently Chicago are starting to post up some pretty healthy numbers. Boozer and Deng are averaging around the 18-20 ppg and if either PG (Heinrich or Robinson) shoots well then they tend to score quite highly. I expect Boston to play wuite big tonight as this is a crucial part of their season and Doc Rivers knows how to get the best out of his players when it matters most. I therefore do expect Boston to take the Win tonight as they have to start pulling them out of the bag to make sure of the play-offs!

Boston to take this 95 - 89

Houston @ Indiana, Under 196 points, 1.95 LOST

The Pacers have the best defence in the league at the moment and they are meeting the team tonight (Rockets) with the best offence in the league - quite a match-up. If you look at the teams averages (Pacers 91ppg to 89 conceding and Rockets 105ppg and 103 conceding) it points me towards this being close. However, Rockets do score less away and I just feel that with the hustle they will provide Rockets won't score 100 points and therefore the 196 line will struggle

Pacers to take this 96-94

Sacramento @ Grizzlies, Under 190.5 points, 1.95 WON

Sacramento are an extremely variable team in points scoring but I am mainly focusing on the Grizzlies when making this tip. They do not let teams (especially at home) score many more than 90 and themselves do not go 100 very often if at all. Sacramento can score 80 as easily as they could go for 100 but tonight against the Grizzlies I lean towards the former.

Grizzlies to take this 94-87.

Deadly double (1 unit bet)

Spurs -7.5 and Denver -5.5 @ 2.14 (bet365) LOST

Good luck tonight guys

Updates to the Blog

As you can see we have made upgrades to the blog and it has taken myself a very long time to do it so hope you enjoy the new look!

We now have a profit / loss page that details our statistics and I have recently put up a graph to show our progress so far this year - go and heck it out!

We will also keep our followers informed about any injuries that are affecting our tips and the NBA in general.

Finally we are now going to past any insightful articles in our new section so our followers can get a good sense of what is going on in and around the NBA!

Wednesday 16th January

Pacers @ Magic, Pacers -1.5 points, 1.95 LOST

Pacers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA at the moment and whilst we appreciate they have had a tough schedule recently (they played on the road last night) they have been able to swap players and give the bench minutes due to winning by comfortable margins. On the other hand the Magic are in slight turmoil without (believe it or not) Glen Davis. They are currently on a 5-5 run in the last 10 and have a losing record at home this year. Furthermore the Magic are letting their opponents shoot at 50% on FG's where as Indiana are letting their opponents shoot only 43%.I see Indiana taking this around 90 - 82 and therefore should cover the spread.

Nets @ Hawks, Brooklyn to win 2.35 LOST

The nets are on an upward curve at the moment with Deron looking like he may finally be coming to the party with some more influential performances. I am never a massive fan of backing the nets but to put it quite simply I am struggling to see the Hawks perform tonight without the suspended Josh Smith. They recently scored under 60 points vs the Bulls and offensively they are beginning to struggle. The value on Brooklyn seems to good to ignore!

Grizzlies @ Spurs, Spurs -5.5 points 1.95 WON

The Memphis Grizzlies are on the slide at the moments after losing by over 20 points in their last two games (v Clippers / Mavericks) and their trip doesn't get much easier as they go to the number 2 team (for a long time now) in the NBA power rankings, whose home record is very, very impressive. I feel that the Spurs match up well with the Grizzlies with Tim Duncan's experience and nouse dealing with a large Memphis front-court. I approach this with a degree of caution with no Ginobli but think that the Spurs will run out fairly comfortable winners

Tasty treble

All of the below games I feel comfortable with the home teams taking them however, like last night, I feel some of the spreads are too large. Therefore I want to place them in a treble

Thunder, Celtics and Trail Blazers all on the money line = 2.26 (Pinnacle) LOST

Best of luck guys

Tuesday 15 January 2013

Tuesday 15th January

Tonight I don't really like the handicap lines at Denver, Brooklyn and Indiana and think that they are all a little bit over-inflated. However, I cannot see any of these teams losing with Denver in the top 5 of the NBA Power Rankings at the moment (also very very dangerous at home) against an improving Portland team. Brooklyn at home agains the Raptors who are very weak on the road should have too much for their opponents and quite frankly Indiana are in a different league to Charlotte home or away so my suggestion tonight is a tasty treble!

Tasty treble

Nuggets, Pacers and Nets to win on the money line (2.12 with Youwin) WON

Best of luck guys!

Monday 14 January 2013

Monday 14th Jan

Bobcats @ Celtics: Over 189 points 1.90 WON
Heat @ Jazz over 196.5 points, 1.95 WON
Thunder @ Suns over 200.5 points, 1.95 LOST
Thunder @ Suns Thunder -5 points 1.95, WON

Apologies for the lateness of tonight's picks and lack of reasoning but there simply was no time today to provide them. As a brief outline though I expect Bobcats lack of defense combined with fast break style to mean a fast paced game (similar to boston rockets the other night, and thus going over 189).  Thunder and Suns both score heavily combined with a fast tempo from Suns as well as a disregard to anything resembling defence meaning Thunder should win well, as well as it going over 200 points.
Jazz at home also score well and Heat as we know do not always try as hard as they should on the defensive end, which means they then have to score big on offence to keep in the game.

Good luck tonight followers

Statistics 2012/13

Having spent a long time day crunching our blog I have found the following:

Tips given this year: 294

Tips won: 204

Tips lost: 90

Percentage of tips that win: 69.4%

Percentage of tips that lose: 31.6%

I am pleased with this return but obviously our units profit is what we focus on!

Sunday 13th January

Hornets @ Knicks, Hornets +9.5 points, 1.55 LOST

NO Hornets have been on a 4 match winning streak and the Knicks have been misfiring recently. NY also have to travel to London after this match and their minds could be on the upcoming trip. Melo does start but apart from that they have been struggling offensively quite remarkably. I do expect NY to take this but certainly by no more than 5 or 6.

Prediction:

Knicks 97 - 91 Hornets

Bucks @ Raptors, Raptors - 2.5 points, 1.95, Over 191.5, 1.9 (Betfair) LOST AND WON

Toronto in front of a packed afternoon crowd are always a force to reckon with and have a winning record (11-6) at home. The Bucks are very erratic this year and Brandon Jennings is carrying the team at the moment but I can see the Raptors having too much for them at home.

Prediction:

Raptors 100 - 94 Bucks

Pacers @ Nets, Pacers +4 points, 1.95 LOST

Indiana are heating up well today and I am going to put this tip in with the assumption of Paul George playing. If he doesn't we shall remove the tip from the blog. Brooklyn have been somewhat unpredictable at home this year and i just feel that they have their main threat coming through Brook Lopez. However, with Roy Hibbert who is a superb defender matching up against Lopez I can see him dominating this area.

Prediction:

Nets 81 - 83 Pacers

Warriors @ Nuggets, Over 209 points, 1.95 WON

Warriors just love to play transition basketball and Stephan Curry absolutely epitomises this. With both teams averaging over 100 points a game and Denver especially scoring high at home I can see this match going for over 215-220 points!

Nuggets 109 - Warriors 106

TWolves @ Spurs, Spurs -12 points, 1.95 WON

Good luck today!

Saturday 12 January 2013

Saturday 12th January

Early tip-off

Magic @ Clippers, Clippers -12.5 points, 1.95 and over 199.5 points, 1.95 LOST AND WON

Bobcats @ Pacers, Bobcats +13.5 points, 1.80 WON

With Paul George out (flu) I expect Bobcats now to cover this quite large handicap. The pacers will be stringent on D but they don't tend to blow teams out of the water and without their best scorer 14 should be too bigger a margin to make up. I expect Indiana to win this match up tonight 87-79.

Suns @ Bulls, Suns +8.5 points, 1.95 WON

Bulls at home have had a very mixed year and playing back to back after a physical and tiring match up with the Knicks should slow them down. Phoenix are, by any judgement, one of the weaker teams in the NBA but I only expect the Bulls to take this 90-87 ish.

Grizzlies @ Mavs, Grizzlies m/l 1.90 (betfair) LOST

Grizzlies, whilst having a busy schedule at the moment are currently on a 4-0 run. Dallas are starting to fit Dirk back in their line-up but are still struggling to re-find any kind of winning form. I expect Rudy Gay to play big tonight with possible talk of his future not getting in his way and Memphis taking this one 92-87.

Heat @ Kings, Under 203 points, 1.95 and Heat m/l 1.33 (betfair) LOST AND WON

Heat can play extremely good defence and the vibe I am getting from Coach Spo is they are fed up of losing on this road trip and will set out to play an active game tonight. I expect the Heat to take this one around the 95-88 mark.

Player performance bet

Jrue Holiday (76ers) to score more than 13.5 points,
1.85 (bet365) WON (30 points!)

A very talented player who's line tonight seems very low especially an open team such as the Rockets who will give you a lot of open looks.

Best of luck!

Why are the Miami Heat struggling vs Teams particularly in the Central division?

Maybe a coincidence that we shouldn't read too much into but Miami have lost 4 out of their 5 games vs Central teams (off the top of my head), with Pacers and my beloved Chicago beating them comfortably.

It is very late tonight and I will try and go into more details tomorrow as to why I think this has occurred, however I think it is very interesting to see, and maybe something that gives us an insight as to why the Heat may not have it completely their own way in the Eastern playoffs this year, considering we all (myself included) thought they would stroll to the play off finals with relative ease this season.

The main reason is Heat going 'small ball.' This just simply isn't working against teams with size and big front court's, especially teams like Chicago who rebound the ball extremely well. We saw Chicago out rebound Miami by a huge amount (stats to follow) which obviously leads to more shot attempts for chicago and less for Miami. It was the same last night, with the Pacers defending the paint well, getting alot of rebounds and defending the perimeter well also (Ray Allen finished the game with zero(!!!)  points, the first time that has happened in 15 years for him). Now if the Heat don't get at least 2 of their superstars firing with a spectacular rate on their jumpers, or being able to get to the FT line with regularity I feel that they are always going to struggle this season, as well as in the play offs with both Pacers and Bulls. As well as the other teams with good sized front caught that play great defense.

Having said that Miami as shown last year always step it up a notch in the playoffs, with Lebron going all superman on teams and Wade and Bosh contributing well too.

Anyways, as I said it's late but I hope to write more about this tomorrow as I think it is interesting and gives us a glimmer of hope that the NBA this season isn't a foregone conclusion.

Let me know your thoughts on here or on twitter.

Monday 7 January 2013

Monday 7th January

A decent start to the new year!

Aside from the tips going well I had the pleasure to see the Bulls bounce back from their horrendous loss to the lowly Bobcats, and see them put up a near flawless defensive display against a full strength Heat team, in their own back yard. With Rose travelling on the trip it is a great time to be a Bulls fan right now :)

Anyways, here are tonight's tips.

Boston @ New York: Selection: Knicks -6.5 points 1.90 LOST

Boston have not been in the best of form although had a great blow out win the other day. However the Knicks are very strong at home, and with no Rondo tonight I expect Boston to have a hard time creating good shots as he is pivotal to their offense. If the Knicks play as they have been playing at the garden then this should be a comfortable win for them.

Thunder @ Wizards: Selection Under 193.5 points LOST

I had the pleasure to watch the Wizards vs Heat game yesterday, with our pick over 190 ish points. Tonight I am taking the under as the Wizards offensively really cannot get much going. Thunder have a fairly steady defense and although I see Thunder putting up 100plus maybe approaching 105. I cannot see the Wizards getting much more than 80 points. I think it may be tight but the total will go under the 193.5 that is being offered. Also Thunder do not score as freely away, with Westbrook being guilty of inconsistency at times.

Dallas @ Utah: Selection: Utah -5.5 points WON

Dallas are really a poor team this year, one which I cannot see making the play offs. Dirk does not seem to be too happy with how things are going at the moment, coming out with some negative things in the press recently. Dallas are very poor defensively, and with Utah a strong team at home with a great offense they should take this one with ease.

Grizzlies @ Kings: selection: Grizzlies -3.5 points WON

The King's this year are a poor team, without much experience or organisation. I like their quick tempo style which makes for exciting games, however Memphis have one of the best defenses in the league whilst being decent offensively however not brilliant.  They will keep King's on lock on the defensive end which will allow them to score enough points to cover the spread tonight.

More tips may follow but these 3 are the ones for tonight for now. Best of luck guys. Also follow us on Twitter @NBAtips1 where we post additional info plus interesting articles and news such as late injuries or team selection etc.
