Hi guys, had a week off what with all star weekend and everything. It was nice to have a few days to sit back and have a look at the 1st half of the season, and see analyse how we have been doing as a blog. We are current well in profit on the season which is obviously good. We have also passed 11 thousand views which is also great. Will definitely be adding in some player performances bets most nights, as long as we think there is good value to be had.
Anyway, tonight's picks are as follows:
Raptors @ Wizards: Raptors to win -3 points 1.95 WON
Bulls @ Hornets: Bulls -1.5 points 1.95 WON
Best of luck tonight guys

Hi guys remember to jump on and follow @nbatips1. We will be tweeting during the matches tonight on Sky!
Today offers us some very exciting games in prospect and to start with I am only looking at the double header on Sky (UK) and ABC (US).
Clippers @ Knicks, 6pm tip off
Looking at these stats in quite a lot of depth this morning and for me these two teams cannot be separated. Clippers are returning to health and whilst CP3 is somewhat rusty after a longish lay-off the Magic game prepared him quite well for this. The Knicks have been very dominant at home this year and tend to do very well on a Sunday afternoon.
Looking through all of the match ups on synergy the offence of both teams dominate the relevant defence for the opposite team. Clippers dominate in the PnR area and Knicks do not defend this well. It is no illusion that the Knicks go to spot ups (long 2s and 3s) to score a lot of their points and the Clippers are ranked 25th at defending spot ups. The early start usually leans to higher points at the Garden and therefore the play for me is the over points today. Hopefully both benches will come to the party as well and if the 3s reign, this line will cruise in.
Over 193.5 is currently at 2.11 (Pinnacle) and this is more than worth taking LOST
Lakers @ Heat, 8.30pm tip off
The Lakers are really teetering on the edge of making the play-offs this year and with Pau Gasol now out for 6 weeks that proves a massive blow for them. Dwight Howard by anyone's judgement is not fitting in as well as once was hoped with him and Kobe having a well documented spat earlier in the week. The match-up tonight, for me, is one sided and depends on Miami playing to the sort of level they are capable of. It is likely that Kobe and Wade will guard each other and for me this leaves LeBron to do most of the scoring.
The Heat took the Lakers by 9 points at the Staples Centre in January and back at the American Airlines should mean this kind of margin can be maintained. Heat should get Chris Bosh and Ray Allen back and this is good news as the Lakers don't defend the 3 ball or long 2 (Bosh) particularly well. The Lakers face their 7th road game in a row and after getting pumped by the Celtics and only just overcoming the Bobcats.
Offensively both teams are a huge force with the Heat scoring 101 points per 100 possessions and the Lakers match that with 100.8 points per 100 possessions. Defensively is where it changes. A lot is made of Heat's ability to grab the boards but at 72.60% on D they are only 1% behind the Lakers. Offensive rebounds is somewhat of a concern but the Lakers do offer very good looks and therefore 2nd chance points should not be too often. The PnR the Heat are number 1 offensively and the Lakers are only 16th at defending this. Isolation plays the Heat love to run in clutch times and they are ranked 1 offensively and Lakers are ranked 23rd. Post up (rank 4 offensively v 12th defensively) and transition basketball are another two areas where the Heat dominate the Lakers.
With all of these statistics to back up my reasoning along with a hefty road trip the Lakers are on without Pau and Dwight's head all over the shop means the spread is one for me to take.
My selection: Heat -7.5 points, 1.91 (bwin) WON

Danilio Gallinari over 18.5 points odds of 5/6 WON
good luck tonight guys
CURRENT PROFIT SINCE THE START OF THE SEASON IS 27.57 UNITS. Had a one or two tougher weeks, where profit levels did not continue to go up as we would obviously have liked. There have been alot of tough to call fixtures lately. Adam and I are fairly happy with this current unit profit level, especially as we provide multiple selections every single night.
However, as Adam previously stated, our aim is 50 units profit by the play offs so there is alot of work to be done between now and then, however we are nicely placed at present and on course to reach that target as we approach all star break.
As I mentioned on twitter a little while ago, I am currently working on a few articles that will have a betting theme in some, though others may just be on events or teams/players in the NBA which I hope will be of interest to the people who read our blog.
Also, don't forget to follow us @NBATIPS1 as we usually provide up to date news and tweet when our blog has be written each night.
Thanks,

Thursday 7th Feb
Sorry for the lateness of today's picks. Very hard to give find a decent angle tonight, as before the lines were made I guessed the totals exactly on the Bulls game of 196 points but said Lakers will be around 192, it is currently 195, and we think it should just sneak under tonight. Dwight Howard looks like he is going to play which will give the lakers so much needed height and defense. Tonight with Lakers @ Boston our selection is under 194.5 points at odds of 1.95 (1 unit) LOST
With regards to the Bulls game it is again tough to think of a decent pick however we have decided as Noah is back we are going to go with a 1/2 unit bet on the Bulls +6.5 points at 1.95 odds. Chicago do not normally get blown out in their losses, are starting to get their players back and always play hard, as well as having an excellent away record (best in the NBA this season so far?). Denver are very strong at home but I will take small stakes on Chicago to cover tonight. LOST
Best of Luck

Kings @ Knicks, Knicks -10.5 points , 1.95 WON
In recent times the Kings have been through a torrid time and they are 5 and 12 on the road this year. In recent times the Knicks have stepped up their defence and have restricted their opponents to 91 points in the last 10 games. This combined with the Kings offensive slump in recent times should mean they are restricted to a lowish total tonight. One stat that I love to support our bet is the Knicks are ranked 3rd in the pick and roll category and yet the Kings are ranked 30th at defending PnR's. The Knicks love to spot up (especially for 3's) and they are ranked 2nd in this cat where as Kings are ranked at 16th defending spot ups.
Hornets @ T'wolves, Hornets +3 points, 1.95 LOST
The Hornets (4-6) are faring OK and Timberwolves (1-9) are struggling in recent times but clearly the Timberwolves look alarmingly under par and they are b2b tonight. The Hornets dominate in 2point field goals, 3pts, assists and defensive rebounds. The Hornets are actually ranked number 1 in the NBA for transition basketball yet only go to it 10% of the time. Something they may want to change sooner rather than later. In all major methods of scoring (Synergy stats) the Hornets defence outwork the Timberwolves in offence according to the NBA rankings. This bet looks a good one for me.

Rockets, thunder, hawks, bucks, spurs and warriors all on moneyline 2.60 LOST

Clippers @ Toronto: Selection: Clippers to win money line 1.60 LOST
Reason: No Jose...No hope!
Magic @ Celtics: Selection: Magic plus 8.5 1.95 LOST
Reason: Celtics don't have a team. depleted, though big baby being an absentee is worrying for the Magic as they play alot better when he is in the team, however, I see Celtics struggling tonight and Magic will cover.
Lakers @ Timberwolves:Selection: Lakers -2 and over 200 points both 1.95 WON BOTH
Lakers are finally getting their act together albeit losing to the Suns in a disappointing 4th quarter 13 point lead slip the other night. Timberwolves still ravaged with injuries and I see Lakers winning tonight.
Hornets @ Nuggets: Selection: Nuggets -7 points 1.95 WON
Denver are simply an elite team at home, with an amazing home record, Hornets will not be able to match the Nuggets scoring power, and I expect them to lose by at least 10 points tonight, especially if Austin Rivers plays decent amount of minutes..30% FG on the season lol! Keep jacking up them shots Austin :)
Good Luck tonight guys
